As a fashion designer, when I meet someone for the first time, she automatically assumes three things about me. The first is that I design my own clothes or I shop big brands, the second is that I have a particular fashion style, and the third is that I spend a lot of money shopping for clothes. et’s face it, most fashion trends out there just aren’t for everyone. Depending on your figure, you might not be able to pull off the “puff sleeve” blouse, or wide waist belts. On June 1st, Fashion lost one of its greatest contributors: Yves Saint Laurent. At the age of 71, Saint Laurent passed away in his Paris home after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Considered fashion’s “fourth force” beside Chanel, Balenciaga, and Dior, Saint Laurent is the last of a generation of design legends.
